Disability Awareness Month 2016

Disability Awareness Month LogoSources Logo

The University of Arkansas and Sources for Community Independent Living Services, along with our community partners, would like to invite students, faculty, staff, as well as the community in recognizing the importance of the 26th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and acknowledging that October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Employment is a fundamental theme throughout the month, by offering several events that focus on disability employment and creating a strong, inclusive workforce. Check out our fun events highlighting the significance of inclusion in sports and recreation for people with disabilities. For those looking for volunteer opportunities, we will be removing home barriers by building accessible ramps in our community. Also, local disability service providers will be on campus this month to share how you can get involved as a volunteer.

Join us as we celebrate the progress that has been made under the ADA by reaffirming the principles of equality and inclusion! Disability Rights are civil rights ya'll

ALL EVENTS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
